Introduction

The American Pit Bull Terrier also is known as the am staff as a medium-sized dog that shares it’s as history with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Body Structure

The dog is muscular and stocky giving. Their skull is broad with very pronounced cheek muscles on the body. Their round eyes are set wide apart, and their muzzle is of medium length. The coat is short closed stiff and glossy and can occur in a wide range of colours solid, party-coloured or patched.

Grooming

Coat care is minimal for the Pitbulls. They need brushing about once a week and a bath once a month should also help. Cleaning of ears, brushing teeth and trimming of nails has to be regular.

The Pitbull staff is a highly people-oriented dog that needs to feel useful and a part of the family. Pitbulls are loyal to a fault and generally friendly with strangers. Pitbulls are also good with children. They are protective of its brood and gets aggressive with other dogs. They need a daily walk on the leash or a vigorous game in the yard.

Life Span

Life expectancy for the Pitbull staff is 12 to 14 years. The Pitbulls are susceptible to skin allergies, urinary tract infections, and autoimmune diseases. Pitbulls have some health issues like spondylosis, osteoarthritis, congenital heart disorder, hip and elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation and cerebellar ataxia.
